Xura Inc., a leading provider of digital communications services, announced that its NFV architecture has been accredited by HPE as part of its NFV System Partner Program. The collaboration means that Xura's products will leverage HPE's state of the art MANO suite, including HPE NFV Director, to support deployment and management of messaging solutions in a carrier-grade network. To demonstrate this, Xura is present on HPE's OpenNFV Partner Showcase at Mobile World Congress 2016, displaying for the first time, Xura SpamShield as a VNF in HPE's Helion OpenStack environment.
As the global leader in the development and deployment of Communications Service Provider's messaging services, including Rich Communication Services (RCS), Xura offers a wide range of solutions that can be deployed in an NFV environment, as part of its newly launched Xura Communications Suite (XCS) architecture. Xura has an aggressive NFV strategy and looks to work with leading partners to deploy its messaging solutions in CSP's networks, as they look to migrate to NFV. As a recognized leader in operation and orchestration systems to drive successful deployment of VNF for carriers globally, HPE's accreditation of Xura's NFV architecture is a key step for the company, as it works to test its solutions in HPE's labs.

Xura's NFV architecture is based on the Xura Communication Suite (XCS) virtualized platform. The architecture supports both NFV and non-NFV legacy solutions on the same platform, which is a requirement for operators during the phased NFV migration process. The Xura NFV architecture provides mobile operators the elasticity to respond to market demand by increasing or decreasing, in real time, the instances of VNFs for any given service, thereby increasing or decreasing capacity as necessary. New services can be added to the existing NFV environment with minimal disruption to network infrastructure. Xura' SpamShield, for example, can be deployed by mobile operators as an VNF to control each messaging stream in their network blocking the majority of the known threats with dynamic detection techniques.
