introduced three new eMachines notebooks — the M2352, M6810 and M6811 — for
the back-to-school season. The new notebooks will be available at leading
retailers this weekend with prices starting at $1,249.99 after a $100 mail-in
rebate(1).
“Our new line of eMachines notebooks hits upon two of the hottest trends
in notebooks — wireless connectivity and widescreen displays,” said Ed
Fisher, Gateway’s senior vice president of product planning. “With all the
new WiFi hot spots, people have realized that wireless is a great way to stay
connected and increase productivity. And crisp, clear widescreen displays
make using an eMachines notebook for work or fun all the more enjoyable.”
The connectivity features of the new eMachines notebooks make surfing the
Internet and checking email fast and easy. The three notebooks come standard
with integrated wireless 802.11g for connectivity at hotels, convention
centers, college campuses and at home. The latest 802.11g WiFi technology
delivers a fast wireless connection and is backward compatible with existing
802.11b WiFi networks. The systems also come standard with an integrated
V.92 modem and 10/100 Ethernet.
The impressive high-resolution WXGA 15.4-inch widescreen display shows
data in a letterbox format — great for viewing large word processing or
spreadsheet files, as well as viewing digital photos and web pages. The
vibrant widescreen displays are also great for watching popular DVD movies.
The new line of eMachines notebook PCs for the back-to-school season

Ideal for students, families and SOHO computer users, the eMachines M2352
is loaded with all the essentials of mobile computing. The system includes a
Mobile AMD Athlon(TM) XP-M processor 3000+ (2.2 GHz), 512MB DDR SDRAM
expandable to 768MB, a 60GB hard drive(2), 802.11g wireless and a bright
15.4-inch widescreen display. For burning CDs and watching movies, the
eMachines M2352 includes a combo DVD-ROM/CD burner.
eMachines M6810: Performance-Packed PC
The eMachines M6810 offers high-end features that will make this the
mobile system of choice for a range of mobile professionals and students.
Offering cutting edge processing technology, the eMachines M6810 includes a
Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor 3200+ with HyperTransport(TM) technology for
64-bit computing, which contributes to faster handling of digital media files
and enhanced multitasking. The system offers multiple ways to access and
store digital media with a 6-in-1 memory card reader, combo DVD-ROM/CD burner,
and a large 60GB hard drive(2). Additionally, the system includes ATI

eMachines M6811: Mobile Multimedia Powerhouse
Packed with technology typically reserved for desktop PCs, the eMachines
M6811 is a multimedia powerhouse. It provides 64-bit computing capability
with a Mobile AMD Athlon 64 processor 3400+ with HyperTransport(TM)
technology, supported by 512MB of DDR SDRAM that can be expanded to 1.2GB.
The crisp, bright look of movies and games on the 15.4-inch widescreen display
is enhanced by dedicated ATI Mobility RADEON 9600 graphics with 64MB DDR video
memory. Accessing and storing video and multimedia files is a snap with the
DVD+/-RW drive that records to both DVD and CD media. Plus, the notebook
