Westcon Group, Inc. announced that its Westcon division is distributing the entire line of Trapeze Networks’ mobility products, including its Mobility Exchange switches, its Mobility Point access points and its Ring Master deployment and monitoring tool.

Trapeze Networks created the first integrated wireless LAN mobility system; its products are distinguished by comprehensive support for identity-based networking which enables the network to provide per user customized services and permissions based on who is connected to the network rather than simply where they are connected from.

By adding the Trapeze Networks product family to its mobility portfolio, Westcon Group offers resellers a mobile networking solution that can be combined and scaled with a range of products from its other leading affinity vendor partners such as Motorola, Brix Networks, Secure Computing and Symbol Technologies.

Laurie Usewicz, vice president of affinity sales and marketing, Westcon Group North America, commented: “Trapeze Networks adds very compelling capabilities to our mobility portfolio. Its identity-based networking capability, for example, offers a glimpse into how networks are becoming intelligently customized for the individual user, regardless of physical location or campus site. This kind of functionality makes it ideally suited for just about any size business or vertical market.”

Bruce Van Nice, vice president, marketing of Trapeze Networks, added: “We are pleased to be working with Westcon Group on a global scale as part of our broad channel strategy. Westcon brings a critical understanding of solutions-based selling, along with the kind of programs and marketing tools that help resellers succeed in identifying and exploiting new opportunities.”

Paul Chandler, president of Charter Telecom, Inc., a Vancouver, Canada based solution provider, added: “Our customers are embracing mobility solutions as the next wave of efficiency and productivity. By working with Westcon Group, we not only gain access to market leading wireless LAN mobility infrastructure and related products, but we also gain insight into where the opportunities exist and how to sell into them. These attributes alone set Westcon Group apart as a distributor.”
