Twitter has finally launched their first app that supports uploading of photos and images to pic.twitter.com.

pic.twitter.com is their own image sharing platform that is powered by the Photobucket infrastructure.

Until now, the only way to use this service was to upload images from their web interface and tweet from there.

Other enhancements:

Enhanced sign up experience

Upload photos to Twitter (pic.twitter.com)

Updated Direct Messages design on iPad

Tap a location on iPad to show Tweets nearby

Bug fixes and minor enhancements

The update today seems to be focused on the public launch of Apple iOS 5 scheduled for tomorrow. Apple iOS 5 comes with deep integration with Twitter platform. And users can share their pictures quickly from the image gallery. We believe we are going to see an explosive growth in the number of Twitter users from tomorrow. Usage is also going to increase massively. We hope they are prepared for it!

We hope to see a similar update for their official mobile app for the Google Android platform!
