Innobec Technologies Inc. (Innobec.com), a major custom software and application developer, announced its acquisition of Dium, a company specialized in building Web and mobile software. The transaction will allow the Canadian firm to expand its service offering, boost its expertise, and increase its operations in the Ottawa region. In 2013, Innobec ranked 13th among Canadian software developers and 4th in Quebec in Profit Magazine's annual ranking of Canada's fastest-growing companies (PROFIT 500).

This addition will allow Innobec to become a major player in eastern Canada. "By adding the Dium team, we are able to increase our presence, expand our operations, and develop new technological expertise. What's more, having a presence in the Ottawa region was the next step in our business development plan, bringing us closer to our clients and helping us penetrate new markets," said Stéphane Rouleau, president and CEO of Innobec. Francis Hétu, one of the founders of Dium who will stay on as general manager at Innobec's new location in the Ottawa region, added that "the acquisition will result in a team that can manage numerous large-scale projects at once. Built on strong values and a clear vision for growth, Innobec puts 'the user experience' first."
