TP-LINK introduced the TL-WPA4220KIT, a Wireless Range Extender Kit which uses Powerline and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi technologies for building a seamless unified home network or extending connectivity in an office. Users can simply plug the kit into existing power sockets and instantly establish a networking infrastructure, including wired and wireless connectivity.
The new Powerline kit includes two Powerline Adapters: the TL-PA4010 and the TL-WPA4220. The first connects directly to a router and feeds a network connection through existing electrical circuitry at the rate of 500Mbps and the latter broadcasts that connection as a 300Mbps Wi-Fi signal in another part of a home or large office. Additionally, two fast Ethernet ports on the larger TL-WPA4220 adapter can provide concurrent wired connectivity for business printers and PCs, or consumer multimedia devices such as set-top boxes and gaming consoles.
Users can easily setup the TL-WPA4220KIT with the built-in Pair and Wi-Fi Clone Buttons: the Super Range Extension feature can automatically copy the wireless network name (SSID) and Password of a router at the push of a button, quickly establishing a secure 128-bit AES encrypted connection.
With standard Homeplug AV compatibility, devices already configured to run on a network will work seamlessly when relocated, without having to redo the setup process. Users can also add a third or more Powerline Adaptors to the network by simply plugging it in, pressing the security button on one of the other devices and then on the new device for easy setup.
An even higher level of security and performance is achievable with TP-LINK’s free Powerline Adapter Utility: customers can configure a private Powerline network; monitor the speed of each Powerline connected device; and select from preset QoS (Quality of Service) settings for various applications, including online gaming, video streaming or VoIP (Voice over IP). “We always strive for optimal user experience,” says Mark Macaulay, director of sales for TP-LINK Canada. “Whether it’s a homeowner facing lackluster HD video streaming in an upstairs bedroom or a small business owner needing improved connectivity to an office printer, our Powerline technology offers simplified setup – all at the push of a button.”
The TL-WPA4220KIT Powerline Wireless Range Extender Kit is available now at a suggested list price of $69.99 from TP-LINK’s vast retail and online partner network across Canada.
