Synology America Corp. announced the release of its most affordable high-performance DiskStation to date- the DS2015xs.  The new 8-bay DiskStation is the first to include built-in 10 gigabit Ethernet, and supports up to 42TB usable storage with Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR).  Shipping with Synology's award-winning DiskStation Manager (DSM), the DS2015xs brings not only enterprise performance, but also enterprise features at small business prices.

Designed for performance and affordability with hardware-assisted encryption, the DS2015xs is made to help businesses get more done.  In benchmark tests, it has achieved speeds of up to 2000MB/s transfer speeds or up to 59,000 sequential IOPS.  With MSRP at $1399.99, it offers an unparalleled price/performance ratio.

"We're excited to bring this level of performance at this price point," said Franklin Hua, Technical Marketing Manager at Synology America Corp.  "The launch of the DS2015xs will allow even small businesses to take advantage of core aggregation, providing high speed storage access to entire offices and workgroups."

Core aggregation will allow small offices and departments to share the high performance capabilities of 10-gigabit Ethernet to multiple 1-gigabit Ethernet connections.  The DS2015xs makes for an affordable storage backend for demanding businesses and departments.

Synology High Availability (SHA) allows users to create a storage cluster to maximize uptime.  Active-passive clustering lets end-users continue working, even if a storage unit were to fail.  The integrated 10 gigabit Ethernet increases the cost effectiveness and dramatically improves re-sync times over those of gigabit Ethernet.

Video production shops can take advantage of 10 gigabit Ethernet for high-speed storage.  Direct connections allow transfer speeds of up to 1000 MB/s on each of the two 10 gigabit ports.

Virtualized environments will find it is already certified for VMware ESXi 5.5, and includes VAAI support for both iSCSI and NFS protocols out of the box.  Windows Server environments can leverage ODX support to increase efficiency.

Using the latest Surveillance Station, the DS2015xs can offer support for up to 40 cameras.  This makes for a small desktop footprint for a high-performance VMS server.
