Chinese personal computer maker Lenovo has somewhat surprised the market by acquiring a rather smallish company.

Lenovo has now acquired Switchbox Labs which is based in Seattle.

This company was started by a Michael Sievert, Robert Dickinson, and Blake Ramsdell.

Sievert is an ex-Microsoft executive who worked for Windows Mobile division.

They are all now going to join Lenovo. Sievert would now report directly to Lenovo chief executive Bill Amelio.

Little is known about what Switchbox Labs actually do. Lenovo must have something in mind while making this acquisition.
