StorageTek(R) (Storage Technology Corporation), and IXOS SOFTWARE AG announced a worldwide strategic
alliance to integrate a branded IXOS e-mail archival solution and resell IXOS’
archiving and ECM software with StorageTek’s storage management solutions.
Through the alliance, IXOS will enable StorageTek to provide customers
with the IXOS-eCONserver for Exchange and IXOS-eCONserver for Lotus as part of
StorageTek’s Email Xcelerator series of solutions. Additionally, StorageTek
may resell the IXOS(R)-eCON Solution Suite, which manages all documents and
data across the enterprise, including groupware, enterprise content and e-mail
archives. This combined IXOS-StorageTek solution will enable companies to
retain an unalterable archive of email for a fixed period of time, helping
them comply with regulatory requirements as mandated by SEC 17a-4,
Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel II.
StorageTek and IXOS have already integrated the StorageTek Application
Storage Manager (ASM) for Unix with the e-mail solution suite — including
Email ArchiveMaster(TM) and Email AuditMaster(TM) — enabling users to
immediately take advantage of the full StorageTek product line including
compliant media.

StorageTek will offer its customers an entire ECM solution. This offering
includes storage devices, professional services to design and implement the
proper infrastructure to optimize StorageTek’s Information Lifecycle
Management(TM) strategy, and the IXOS(R)-eCON Solution Suite, an integrated
platform to securely and reliably manage business documents in SAP(R),
Siebel(R), Microsoft(R) Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, and
Lotus(R) Notes environments, and custom applications. StorageTek will offer an
ECM solution that enables customers to efficiently create, manage, and
distribute Web content. In addition, the suite allows internal and external
enterprise users to receive individualized access to important data and
documents — in real-time — using a standard Web interface that is customized
to match their corporate identity.
