SonicWALL, Inc. the leading provider of intelligent network security and data protection solutions, today announced it is the first network security vendor to receive ICSA Labs Enterprise Firewall Certification. The ICSA Labs certification covers the entire SonicWALL E-Class Network Security Appliance (NSA) series.
Enterprise firewalls are placed on a network's perimeter to enforce a security policy by allowing or denying network traffic. The ICSA Labs' certification determined that the enterprise firewall handles IPv6, VoIP and high-availability attacks in a manner that enterprises require. This certification verifies that the SonicWALL E-Class Network Security Appliance (NSA) series works as expected and meets the criteria established by ICSA Labs to protect the network perimeter.
"SonicWALL has been participating in the ICSA Labs Network Firewall Certification Program for well over a decade," says Brian Monkman, perimeter security programs manager, ICSA Labs. "This latest certification SonicWALL has attained demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to continually improving its products and meeting ICSA Labs' ever-evolving stringent certification testing criteria."
ICSA Labs' testing criteria mirror the continuously-changing threat landscape and are constantly adjusted so that products remain up-to-date in protecting organizations against the latest threats and vulnerabilities. Vendors such as SonicWALL are required to meet the adjusted criteria within a specified timeframe to maintain their certification.
"It's easy for vendors to say they have the fastest, best performing and most comprehensive security solutions available – proving all this is significantly more difficult," said Patrick Sweeney, vice president of product management and corporate marketing, SonicWALL. "SonicWALL is committed to demonstrating its strengths. We always have and will continue to work closely with ICSA Labs to satisfy its certification criteria."
