SAND Technology Inc provider of the world’s most advanced column store database, today announced that leading Customer Analytics company dunnhumby had reached over 10,000 concurrent users on applications powered by SAND’s database.
In their main Loyalty Marketing application, which services retailers such as Tesco, Kroger, Best Buy, Macy’s, and Metro, and clients including Coca-Cola, P&G, and others, 10,000 concurrent users can drive high-performance complex product sales comparisons.
Using SAND’s massively parallel processing (MPP), generation based concurrency control (GBCC) and workload manager, dozens of individual SAND databases with multiple terabytes of data, spread across hundreds of processing cores, allow for truly elastic, scalable, and private cloud environments.
“At the core of Loyalty Marketing is analytic data,” said SAND President and COO, Mike Pilcher. “We are moving from one to one marketing to one to one pricing through targeted offers. With this move it is essential we focus the right amount of resources on the right customers. Identifying which customers are most likely to buy new products, which are most likely to buy more products, and which have the highest propensity to churn. No technology can provide the power, scalability, and efficiency to answer those questions. That’s why the world’s leading retailers rely on SAND.”
