Scale Computing, the leader in hyperconverged storage, server, and virtualization solutions for mid-sized users, today announced it has significantly expanded its operations in Canada to support increasing demand for its HC3® solutions from partners and customers.
Scale Computing has an enthusiastic following among small-to-midsized users because of its simple, scalable, and affordable approach to hyperconvergence in varying IT infrastructures. With no virtualization software to license and no external storage to buy, the HC3 platform reduces out-of-pocket costs while providing reliable performance and capacity to keep business applications running.
“In just the past year, Canadian IT insiders have witnessed a dramatic change in the market as hyperconvergence in general became more and more validated, and Scale Computing in particular has gained credibility and recognition for our focus on mid-sized users,” said Jeff Ready, CEO and Co-founder of Scale Computing. “On the basis of pure percentages, our sales in Canada are growing faster than in the U.S. and EMEA, so it’s vital that we build a strong team and partnerships here. The majority of businesses in Canada employ fewer than 1000 employees, and these are the ideal environments for our HC3 platform.”
From this new hub in Toronto, including new sales and support staff, Scale Computing can nurture its growing channel relationships throughout the country. Scale’s 100 percent channel sales model in Canada has attracted small and large regional value-added resellers and solution providers, as well as direct-market resellers that serve small-business customers like CDW Canada, Softchoice, and Insight Canada. Scale Computing’s VAR relationships continue to expand as the demand for simple and cost effective hyperconverged solutions is skyrocketing.
Scale Computing has added Kevin Greenwood, Senior Director of Global Channel Sales and Christopher Angell as solutions engineer to deliver effective technical and product leadership for partners and prospective customers. Angell is a longtime IT consultant who was most recently group IT manager for Sudbury-based TESC Management, a large construction services company for global mining, energy, oil and gas industry clients. In this position for TESC Management’s five separate ‘companies within a company,’ Angell gained firsthand knowledge of the HC3 platform when he installed a complete back-end infrastructure based on Scale Computing.
Greenwood and Angell join a team that already includes Country Manager Scott Mann, who for nearly a decade has led efforts in Canada around business development and client management in the software, data security, virtualization, and cloud computing segments. Additional new hires will be announced in the near future.
Scale Computing plans to sponsor and attend a number of upcoming trade events throughout Canada to continue to introduce and showcase the company’s HC3 hyperconverged platform. New enhancements and features will push the platform to evolve to meet the rapidly shifting technology requirements of Canadian businesses.
