Nintendo is giving its 3DS console a little more dose of interesting. Starting today, gamers who visit the Nintendo eShop will be able to download free game demo versions of select games a few weeks before the full versions are available in stores. For its opening salvo, users can download a demo of Resident Evil Revelations from Capcom, wherein they can tour around Raccoon City and shoot a bunch of zombies in the process.

Other upcoming demo games include Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games by Sega on January 26, as well as Rayman Origins from Ubisoft and Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D from Konami Digital Entertainment with yet-to-be-announced launch dates.

Nintendo promises that it will update its eShop periodically with new game demos.
