Arkadi Kuhlmann, the consumer-advocate banker who introduced savings focused Internet banking with ING Direct in the late 1990's, announced today the launch of ZenBanx Canada, and the evolution of global, mobile banking, with the ZenBanx Account. The ZenBanx Account allows customers to hold up to five currencies, exchange currencies whenever they choose, and send money internationally to family and friends.

The ZenBanx Account makes money mobile and social. Customers can save in up to five of the nine currency positions offered, exchange among the positions at will, and add a message and photo with the money they send. Imbedded security features during sign up and transfers keep the sender and receiver safe, and enable sent money to be tracked to ensure it reaches its destination.

Additionally, to make sending money social, the ZenBanx Account provides convenient celebration themed messages for life milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, and births. To celebrate Chinese New Year, ZenBanx Canada created a digital Red Envelope that honours the Chinese tradition of giving monetary "Good Fortune" to family and friends contained in Red Envelopes.

The Red Envelope Program is easy to use and all money transfers within Canada are free. To send money, users enter the email address of the recipient, and the amount to send. Transfers are funded from any third-party bank account in Canada and deposited to the bank account of the recipient.
