Microsoft testing a new disc format for their Xbox 360 console

Microsoft is testing a new disc format for their Xbox 360 gaming console.

Industry sources say that this new format would enable videogame developers store more content in the discs designed for this console.

The new storage mechanism is rumored to be offering around 1GB of extra storage space on the same DVDs that are used by the console.

This is good news for the videogame companies as they would get more space to deliver the goodies for games on the Xbox 360 console.

Microsoft is offering a free copy of Halo: Reach game to beta testers who apply and get approved for this testing.
