Microsoft MSN Direct now suport GPS

Software giant Microsoft has now made available an API that enables the web services to send location information to GPS navigation devices.

This helps in expanding the services offered by their MSN Direct division.

The company said that this API allows Web sites to send local information to GPS units either wirelessly or through a USB connection.

They had announced this API at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year. It is now available for free to developers.

Microsoft said to make use of this API, the GPS devices would have to be compatible with MSN Direct Send.
