Skype has announced that they are acquiring group messaging platform GroupMe.
With this, Microsoft might be entering the crowded market of group messaging services.
This market is largely dominated by platform specific services like Blackberry Messenger.
Apple is adding iMessage to their iOS platform through iOS 5. Google also has their own service named Huddle which is a part of Google Plus.
