Microsoft has announced that they would now store user data for a period of six months instead of eighteen related to their Bing search engine.
The aim is to improve upon their privacy record.
Google had announced a similar change in 2008. They are storing user data for nine months these days instead of 18 previously.
Microsoft claims that they would remove more data compared to Google after the period of six months so they are doing a better job compared to the market leader.
Both the companies were criticized for this user data retention period by the European Commission.
