At the Florida Education Technology Conference (FETC), LeapFrog School, the education division of LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., announced the release of a new online version of Link to Lessons, an educator resource featuring easy-to-use classroom tools and standards-aligned activities for individualized instruction. Designed to support classroom use of LeapFrog School products for early literacy and language development in PreK-Grade 2, Link to Lessons provides more than 6,000 skill-based, standards-aligned activities and tools that are searchable by instructional objective and available for tracking student progress.

Using simple navigation, teachers can find activities for early literacy and reading, development along DIBELS measures, English language development, and Spanish literacy. Each activity appears with the relevant state standard or standards that it covers. These activities are then used to create customized lessons for individual student, small group, and whole-class instruction. The planning tools in Link to Lessons, and the LeapFrog School products they support, help teachers use engaging, multisensory instruction with a variety of learning modalities and learners, including advanced students, struggling students, English Language Learners, and those with special needs. In this new online version, teachers can share their lesson plans with the Link to Lessons online community, further expanding their options for classroom instruction.

“Moving Link to Lessons online represents an important step in our company-wide ‘Connected Customer’ strategy,” said Mike Lorion, president of LeapFrog School. “We plan to connect more and more on-demand support and instructional resources to the classroom, so that teachers and students can get the most from our learning solutions. Upcoming new products will work seamlessly with downloadable content, progress tracking, state standards information, professional development, and community features to help ensure that users in the classroom will meet their achievement goals.”

Link to Lessons activities, instructional tools, and state standards alignments support a variety of LeapFrog School programs, including: The Literacy Center; Ready, Set, Leap!; LeapStart preschool kit; Head Start language & literacy kit; Language First! program; Leapster portable technology centers; English Picture Dictionary for Spanish Speakers; Big Leap special education program; Interactive Library for the LeapPad and Quantum LeapPad personal learning tools.
