– Seagate Technology
announced that its Maxtor OneTouch III, Mini Edition storage solution
has won the Ultimate Choice Award from LAPTOP-Mobile Solutions for Business &
Life, a leading mobile technology magazine. Now featured in the portable hard
drive section of LAPTOP’s Ultimate Mobility special issue, currently on
newsstands, the sleek and innovative storage solution continues Seagate’s
legacy of providing the most simple and intuitive ways for consumers, small
business owners and executive road warriors to store, manage and automatically
protect their valuable business documents, personal media content and files.

As “the mobile tech authority,” LAPTOP magazine features the most
trusted, in-depth product reviews. For this award, the magazine’s editors
selected the best portable products by rigorously testing and comparing them
for reliability, performance, speed, user-friendliness, affordability and
innovative features.
“In the end, we couldn’t resist the product’s blend of very cool style,
robust software suite, extreme ease of use, and attractive cost per gigabyte,”
noted LAPTOP. Awarding the solution four and a half out of five stars, LAPTOP
continues to state that “at seven ounces, the Mini Edition remains a good fit
for most jackets.”

“We’re honored to be recognized for an elegant solution like the Maxtor
OneTouch Mini,” said Jim Druckrey, senior vice president and general manager,
Seagate Branded Solutions. “Our team is dedicated to providing innovative
solutions to today’s challenges managing digital content.”
Making it easy to work between two computers, the Seagate Maxtor OneTouch
III, Mini Edition includes Maxtor Sync(TM), a software feature that
automatically synchronizes files between two or more computer systems on the
same operating platform. The portable storage solution also includes two
levels of security: software encryption to protect its contents if the drive
is ever lost or stolen, and Maxtor DriveLock(R), embedded firmware that
further restricts data access should it fall into the wrong hands. The
firmware is designed to deny access without the correct password, even if the
internal hard drive is removed from the casing and attached to another
computer.
The Maxtor OneTouch III, Mini Edition comes in a 60GB or 100GB capacity
and easily connects to a Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP computer via a USB 2.0
or USB 1.1 port. Currently available at major U.S. retailers, distributors and
online stores, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 60GB
is $149.95 and $199.95 for the 100GB. Please visit www.maxtorsolutions.com for
