E-Channelnews was at the recent Cebit event in Germany and interviewed Orlando Remedios, CEO of Sensefinity, a Portuagl-based provider of simple to use user interface and reliable cloud infrastructure for your data.

E-Channelnews: Tell us about your company

Orlando Remedios: Sensefinity was started in 2013 and has already been considered on of the top-5 Portuguese startups. Finalist of the CeBIT and MIT startup competitions, Sensefinity is now starting to acquire its first global customers and preparing to move to the Americas.

E-Channelnews: Do you sell through reseller partners?

Orlando Remedios: Our vision is to provide simple systems for the Small and Medium Enterprises. As such we belive that it is crucial to find local partners which are able to understand the business of these SME's. This can only work well via resell partners which understand the different verticals and are the trusted partners of these customers.

E-Channelnews: What problem does your product solve?

Orlando Remedios: We created Sensefinity to enable Small and Medium Enterprises to be able to improve their Business by integrating their physical assets to their IT systems without having to pay for customization projects. Instant Internet of Things for the Masses.

E-Channelnews: Who are some of your key target customers?

Orlando Remedios: Our main target are small businesspeople who want to leverage the data of their assets to improve processes and productivity. While we optimized to reduce the implementation costs, already big companies approached us wanting to use these systems as they are orders of magnitude cheaper than their integrators.

E-Channelnews: Can you provide more details on what and how does your product work?

Orlando Remedios: We achieve the reduced implementation costs by delivering of-the-shelf products already integrated to web-systems. While these systems are benficial from day 1, an API can be used to later-on integrate to the customer's back-end systems if desired.

E-Channelnews: What are 3 key benefits that your product delivers for the end-customer?

Orlando Remedios: Sensefinity's system offers high convenience due to the ease of use, i.e. self-provision.
Also the costs are controlled due to the Cloud-Setup and that customization is only optional and not mandatory.
And to further lower the barrier to implementation, we make the systems as simple as possible, i.e. we focus on delivering a self-explanatory, self-provisionable system so that everyone is able to use it.

E-Channelnews: Are you currently selling into the North American market? If no, are you interested in expanding into North America and when?

Orlando Remedios: During our visit to the MIT we got very good feedback of the local industry in Massachusets, This led us to believe that our systems are a very good fit for the American market. For that reason we are actively pushing to move our headquarters to the US.

E-Channelnews: Roughly, what is the end-customer pricing for your product in US$?

Orlando Remedios: Sensefinity's system consists of a Gateway Sensor-Node with cellular connectivity which we target at 99USD, Sensor-Nodes which we target at 24,99USD and a SaaS fee of 9,99USD.

E-Channelnews: What is the best way for resellers to reach you and learn more about your products?

Orlando Remedios: Sensefinity is actively looking for resellers in North America. You can reach us via e-mail at info@sensefinity.com and we look forward to schedule a call and meet.

E-Channelnews: What else would you like our subscribers to know about your company or products?
