Microprocessor industry giant Intel has announced that they are developing more than 15 system-on-chips based on their Atom processor.

These would be used on mobile devices and consumer electronics.

The company is using Atom as the base for these new chips as it is power efficient and performance oriented.

Intel added that these new chips would come with subsystems to accelerate applications for video decoding and security.

The company is also working on Moorestown which would take over from Atom range of processors in the coming years.
