Stephen Jay, Regional Manager for North America for HansaWorld, outlined in two sessions at VARTech the key technological differences of the Enterprise by HansaWorld Integrated Business Platform, that leave HansaWorld as the only mainstream vendor offering a full suite of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) on iOS, Android and Windows 8 tablets and smartphones.
"The irrepressible rise of tablets and other smart devices has taken the IT industry by surprise, leaving vendors desperately scrambling to deliver their solutions on new platforms" commented Jay. "Those with browser technologies will take time to adapt their desktop interfaces for a style of use that is different on each device, and in many cases are struggling to achieve acceptable performance and security levels. The majority of existing vendors are unable to port their code onto new platforms, and so are starting the huge process of rewriting their applications from scratch on each device – by creating specialized apps usually on a single platform, with limited role-based functionality for the foreseeable future," he continued.
