Google has announced that they have now received the relevant permissions to acquire ITA Software.
They have to meet certain guidelines and that is largely it.
The search engine giant said that they would honor all existing deals ITA Software has signed up with their existing customers.
ITA Software customers would also get the option to extend their contracts till 2016.
Google would also have to ensure that the technology developed by this company would be available to other travel sites.
The company added that this acquisition would enable them to massively improve the travel searching capabilities of their own products. We might soon be able to search for flights using the regular Google search engine.
