Google has now released an early edition of the Android 1.5 SDK.

It is now available to developers who want to go through it and check out the new features.

Google said that this SDK is based on the cupcake branch from the Android Open Source Project.

It comes loaded with new features and APIs with support for soft keyboards, speech recognition, live folders and home screen widgets.

It is not clear whether this release of Android would be offered to the existing Android powered mobile devices in the market.
