Gladinet Introduces File Sync with Major Cloud Storage Services

With continued focus on its role as an industry-leading provider of cloud storage access solutions, Gladinet (http://www.gladinet.com) has released Cloud Desktop 3.0 with file sync, significant enhancements in usability, and performance.

Lauded by the press for its simple cloud storage connectivity and backup, Cloud Desktop now adds file synchronization across multiple PCs by leveraging any cloud storage service. “In the modern computing paradigm, it is common for people to work from multiple machines,” explained Jerry Huang, co-founder of Gladinet. “Many will have one or more PCs at work and at home. This highlights the need for a good synchronization solution which allows the user to manage the same set of documents across all their machines. To solve this problem, Gladinet’s new file sync feature leverages Amazon S3, Google Docs, Windows Azure or any other cloud storage service that the user chooses.”

Gladinet didn’t stop at satisfying this pervasive need. The company has also responded to customer requests for enhanced usability. According to Huang, “Gladinet has a rapidly growing user base of 600,000 users and we take their feedback very seriously. Having received multiple requests for enhanced usability, our team completely reworked the user interface in 3.0 to make it cleaner and easier to use. This will go a long way to satisfy the expressed needs of our customers.”

In addition to file synchronization across multiple PCs and usability improvements, Cloud Desktop 3.0 also includes enhancements for its backup capabilities. With the new snapshot backup, multiple versions of full or incremental backups may be stored. This gives the flexibility to restore from any previous version instead of being limited to the latest mirrored copy. Storing incremental snapshots provides this flexibility while minimizing the additional space requirements. “The new backup feature also allows users to backup email, or any other live data that may be in use at the time of the backup,” says Huang. “And our developers have done an impressive job of providing these 3.0 features with significant enhancements in robustness and performance.”
