FinePrint Software Releases Version 2.0 of pdfFactory and pdfFactory Pro

FinePrint Software today announces the release of version 2.0 of
both pdfFactory and pdfFactory Pro, easy-to-use and inexpensive
alternatives to Adobe Acrobat for creating Adobe Portable Document
    Format (PDF) files.

pdfFactory 2.0 now offers a setting to adjust the quality and
file-size characteristics of graphics, plus adds improved support for
transparent images and hatched/patterned documents that often do not
translate well into a PDF file.

pdfFactory Pro has been improved to include the same enhancements
as pdfFactory, but with new enterprise-class capabilities added as
    well.

For those who need different pdfFactory Pro features for creating
various types of documents — such as the occasional secure document
or PDFs with bookmarks — users can now establish multiple pdfFactory
Pro configurations that can be selected from the Print menu. To create
PDFs, users click on pdfFactory Pro in the Print menu as if they were
going to print the document to a printer. Now, they can choose from
multiple pdfFactory Pro options, such as “secure PDF” or “bookmark
PDF,” each with different configuration settings pre-established for
how the PDF is to be created.

FinePrint Software has also added new email capabilities by
enabling users to write a program to interface with pdfFactory Pro
that will create PDFs and automatically email them to a group of
recipients with address, subject and message fields completed. This
feature will be especially useful for documents such as invoices and
purchase orders, which are regularly produced and emailed to certain
    groups.

“Version 2.0 of pdfFactory and pdfFactory Pro gives those who want
PDF-writing capabilities even less reason to spend several hundred
dollars more for Adobe Acrobat,” said Jonathan Weiner, president of
FinePrint Software. “Our goal has been to provide all of the
functionality that most of our customers need at a price-point that
would enable users — from individuals to small businesses to large
corporations — to have PDF writing software on every workstation.”

Trial versions of pdfFactory and pdfFactory Pro are available for
download at the FinePrint web site, www.fineprint.com. pdfFactory is
available for $49.95 while pdfFactory Pro is priced at $99.95.
    Quantity discounts are available.

    About PDF

When viewed and printed, they contain all the fonts, graphical
information, layout and formatting of an original printed document. A
PDF file can be viewed on many operating systems including Windows,
Mac(R) OS, and all Unix variants including Linux. PDF files can be
opened, read and printed by anyone with the free Adobe Acrobat(R)
