First Farmers Insurance took over FarmVille, then the insurance company took on cyber wise guys in Mafia Wars, followed by a tasty trip to Cafe World. Now Farmers is going cosmopolitan with CityVille, a social game that allows players to build their dream city and the largest game on Facebook (according to AppData).

“In CityVille you can build your dream city and we believe every dream city should have a Farmers Insurance office,” said Marc Zeitlin, Vice President of e-Business for Farmers Insurance. “The Farmers brand is proudly represented by our 15,000 agents in store-fronts all across the United States, and this game brings that sense entrepreneurship to the cyber-world.”

The famed University of Farmers, seen in Farmers popular television commercials, will be available for players to place in their cities, along with attractive replicas of the Farmers Airship and Farmers one-of-a-kind “AutoBoatHome”, a literal representation of Farmers extensive product lines. In addition, Farmers is launching a “Manhattan Madness” sweepstakes, open to the general public, which offers the winner a wonderful weekend in one of the best cities in America. This sweepstakes will run until November 18, 2011.

Players can enter to win by “liking” Farmers Insurance at Facebook.com/farmersinsurance.

“CityVille is the culmination of our unprecedented social game campaign for Farmers,” said Ryon Harms, Director of Social Media for Farmers Insurance. “These games have given us a creative extension to our popular University of Farmers TV commercials with exceptional results. We will continue to look for creative ways to innovate and deliver the Farmers brand experience in ways that are both fun and informative of our agents, products and services in the months and years ahead.”

Farmers is the first insurance company to launch a multi-game on-line campaign. Thanks to an aggressive online advertising campaign, thousands of hard-core insurance agents, engaged employees and a slick way to interact with one of the most popular games on the internet, Farmers set a new Guinness World Record for most “likes” in a 24-hour period, during its FarmVille promotion earlier this year.
