Facebook has now overtaken AOL to become the fourth most visited website in the USA.
The popular social networking service had already overtaken AOL globally earlier this year.
AOL recently separated from the parent company Time Warner and they are now focusing on becoming a content portal.
Facebook on the other hand mostly consists of user generated data.
Facebook is now only dominated by the three giants of the web: Microsoft, Yahoo and Google.
Remains to be seen if they can catch up with any of these in the coming years.
