At Momentum, the EMC content management user conference, EMC Corporation today announced new products and enhancements to the Web Content Management (WCM) offerings in the EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management platform. Recognized as the leader in the META Group’s most recent METAspectrum report on WCM products, the Documentum platform was noted for its impressive breadth of functionality, significant number of enterprise installations and global presence.
By providing a single platform that simplifies web publishing and delivering new products and enhancements to its Documentum WCM solutions, EMC is strengthening its software leadership position. Organizations across all industries continue to deploy the Documentum platform to manage complex sites, leverage XML and reduce costs.
Founded in 1870, the University of Missouri, Rolla, is Missouri’s premier technology university. Late last year, the university launched a campus-wide project to deploy a single solution both to combat the sprawl of siloed web sites and to support a campus-wide communication strategy. Working with Crown Partners, an EMC content management integration partner, the university implemented the Documentum platform to unify 25 disparate web sites in five weeks. This was the first phase of a larger project.
“Deploying the EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management platform to manage our web content has brought operational efficiency and a consistent look and feel across our web properties,” said Meg Brady, Director of Application Development Group, Information Technology, University of Missouri, Rolla. “The Documentum products help us reuse web content across multiple sites, and we’ve created numerous templates that enable non-technical contributors to create and publish content. We are working with EMC to expand our product use to enhance the strategic management of our university’s information collateral.”
Mark Arbour, General Manager of Web Content Management Business Unit, EMC Software, said, “We continue to focus on making our WCM solutions easier for all users – regardless of their level of expertise, and we are pleased to deliver new capabilities that add more functionality without additional complexity.”
The latest version of the EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management platform includes many new Web Content Management upgrades that facilitate ease of publishing, including:
· New XML Editor – simplifies working with XML and HTML content, with easy-to-use interface, drag-and-drop or cut and paste of content directly from programs such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel; also includes international language support
