Destiny Media Technologies, Inc, provider of the global standard for the secure distribution of pre-release music to radio and other music industry professionals, is pleased to announce an agreement with Shazam Entertainment Limited, the world's leading media engagement company, whereby Destiny's Play MPE system will automatically transmit digital fingerprints and meta data to Shazam servers.

Shazam collects acoustic fingerprints of music and matches it against its database of more than 35 million songs, allowing its more than 85 million monthly active users in 200 countries to quickly identify the name and artist of a song they hear over the radio.  With this agreement, Shazam's fingerprinting technology will be integrated into the Play MPE system. This will provide Shazam with data access to the thousands of tracks Destiny distributes each week from the major record labels and thousands of independent labels from around the world.

The Shazam integration with Play MPE will benefit both consumers and record labels by increasing the likelihood of successful song identification closer to the release date. The recognition and availability of song information allows the consumer to learn more about an artist, leading to a positive impact on digital sales.

"Shazam is known for its music discovery capabilities by music fans all over the world. By incorporating their song fingerprints into the Play MPE® system, we are simplifying the process for our record label and independent artist customers to introduce new music.  Making delivery of pre-release music simple, secure and cost effective  are all keys to  our success thus far, and will continue to be the main drivers for the global adoption of Play MPE®," said Fred Vandenberg, CFO of Destiny Media Technologies, Inc.
