Cognos today announced results from a series of extensive scalability tests conducted at the IBM Solution Partner Center lab in San Mateo, CA. According to the results, Cognos ReportNet demonstrated massive scalability in a truly concurrent user environment with mission-critical response times for Web-based content navigation, report viewing and report execution to 190,000 named users.
Cognos ReportNet also demonstrated excellent performance in other large deployment simulations ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 named users on a 16-CPU Windows configuration. In production reporting tests, ReportNet demonstrated outstanding throughput results that yielded 78 pages per second or 6.7 million report pages per day. These batch-reporting tests were based on a 26-page PDF report.
The tests ran on multiple hardware configurations, including IBM eServer xSeries and IBM eServer BladeCenter, and drew directly from an IBM DB2 Universal Database and IBM WebSphere Application Server.
The results underlined Cognos ReportNet’s clear superiority in enterprise reporting market, offering scalability to 100s of 1,000s of users, ease of use and a dramatically low total cost of ownership.
