Fourteen leading information-technology (IT) vendors, identified by their solution-provider partners as providing the highest levels of satisfaction, received top honors in the Annual Report Card (ARC) awards program from CMP Media’s VARBusiness magazine, the biweekly that provides strategic insight to technology integrators. They were honored at a ceremony held on Aug. 23, at the XChange ’05 Conference in Orlando, Fla.

In addition, CMP’s Channel Group presented its Channel Executive of the Year award to Intel’s Steve Dallman at the high-tech, multimedia ceremony. The honor was bestowed on behalf of all of the group’s products — CRN, VARBusiness, XChange, IPED and ChannelWeb.

“The VARBusiness Annual Report Card is the industry standard for measuring excellence,” says Publisher Robert C. DeMarzo. “It is a particularly meaningful benchmark because the winning companies are selected by their customers.”

Intel’s Dallman Named Channel Executive of the Year

In addition, Steve Dallman, Intel’s director of North American distribution and channel sales & marketing, was named CMP Channel Group Channel Executive of the Year. He received the prestigious award based upon the accomplishments that Intel’s channel organization made during the past year.

In presenting the award, CMP Channel Group President Robert Faletra noted that Dallman’s hallmarks have been consistent revenue growth in North American sales plus the ability to slice through bureaucratic obstacles for program members to more easily obtain marketing and advertising dollars to fund their own demand-generation activities. He addresses the solutions needs of resellers by providing marketing tools, training and benefits based on technology and solutions.

“Steve Dallman touches nearly every single piece of the IT value chain and has dedicated his career to building and nurturing a wide range of channels for Intel,” Faletra says. “He gives new meaning to the phrase ‘industry insider.'”

The more than 730 attendees included the award-winning companies, VIP solution providers, VARBusiness staff and event sponsors. Event sponsors were Business Objects, Cisco Systems, Lexmark, Microsoft, Oracle, Samsung, Seagate, Sun Microsystems, Symantec and Toshiba.
