"The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison, together with the show's creator Mike Fleiss and Perceptual Networks, today announced the launch of At First Sight, a new dating app that uses video profiles to help members make genuine connections. Now available on iOS and Android, At First Sight lets users see and hear firsthand if a potential match is a connection – mirroring how dating works in real life.

"We created At First Sight because we wanted to do something for the millions of people out there who want to find love," said Chris Harrison, host of "The Bachelor" and its spin-off "The Bachelorette." "You can only learn so much from a photo, but video profiles really give you a sense of who someone is and whether you'd like to meet them in person.  It's an easier, more natural way to connect with people and figure out if you have chemistry together."

At First Sight combines video, chat and social features to help members find and learn about potential matches. To join, users can simply connect via Facebook or sign up with an email address, and create a short introduction video with their smartphone. From there, members can scroll through the app to look at video profiles and decide who they want to chat with and potentially meet. All the while, At First Sight uses proprietary, behind-the-scenes technology to help members find the best matches.

"After producing 26 seasons of 'The Bachelor' and, 'The Bachelorette,' Chris and I have learned a lot about how people date, make impressions and get to know each other," said Mike Fleiss, creator of "The Bachelor." "We've also seen through the casting process how videos can really help you get to know someone quickly. At First Sight combines our experience in television with smart technology, to create a truly new kind of online dating that is easy to use and can help make better connections."

The questions that members respond to via video are carefully crafted to encourage users to reveal their true character, giving potential matches a better sense of the person's interests and personality. The app also contains security features, such as custom privacy settings and messaging limits, to ensure members feel safe and comfortable enough to be their authentic selves.
