CGI announced the signing of a five-year contract with Carrefour. The new agreement is an extension of a partnership that was formed in 2007. Under the contract, CGI will be responsible for the maintenance and development of more than 250 Carrefour France IT applications, from procurement activities to revenue inflow activities, for its 1,200 hypermarkets and supermarkets in France. CGI will also provide 24-hour-a-day personalized support.
"We have been working with CGI's France-based teams for nearly 10 years," said Renaud de Barbuat, Director of Information Systems at Carrefour France. "We were seeking a partnership of trust that would give us the opportunity to adopt an industrial approach so as to ensure the management of our information systems while lowering costs. By continuously improving its services while also offering new solutions, CGI has shown its added value and its commitment on a day-to-day basis."
"As a testament to the quality of a partnership built 10 years ago, Carrefour has decided to extend its association with CGI for the next five years," said Jean-Michel Baticle, President of CGI in France, Luxembourg and Morocco. "Carrefour has once again entrusted us to ensure the maintenance and development of a vast majority of its IT systems in France while supporting its hypermarkets and supermarkets, as well as warehouses and headquarters, for a total of more than 250 applications in a large distribution chain. This strategic project marks a further step in the on-going improvement and commitment of our teams. It demonstrates the ability of CGI's teams to take action on our clients' most critical issues."
