Bell TV first in Canada to offer satellite customers national video on demand service

Bell announced the launch of Bell TV On Demand, the first national on-demand video service available to Canadian satellite TV subscribers. Bell TV On Demand is also the first to offer satellite customers national on-demand access to select titles in crystal clear 1080p HD resolution, comparable to Blu-ray.

"With today's launch of Bell TV On Demand, Bell TV customers can now enjoy access to an ever-changing library of top HDHollywood blockbusters – many available the same day they show up at the local video store – anytime they want," said Kevin Crull, President of Bell Residential Services. "Bell TV is already Canada's premier satellite television service, offering more than 100 HD channels and the best PVR in the business. Today we've expanded our leadership by being the first to offer satellite subscribers a national HD on-demand service."

Bell TV On Demand allows customers with a Bell HD PVR (models 9241 or 9242) to browse top HD quality movies including blockbusters such as Repo Man, Robin Hood, Get Him to the Greek and Iron Man II (October) for immediate playback with full PVR control, including stop, pause, forward and rewind functions.

Movies cost $6.99 per title for up to 48-hour access, and are available instantly by remote control on channel 1000 or by calling 1-866-68 ORDER. New titles will be made available every week.
