Apple has opened up their eBook store to independent authors.
Authors would now be able to publish their own books that would be sold through the official Apple eBook store for the Apple iPad and iPhone.
Apple iTunes Connect program now support such capabilities to regular users who are not associated with any of the Apple partners for this project.
The books have to be published in the ePub format which is the default for all the material offered by Apple on their store.
Apple iBookstore is currently available for the iPad users. Apple iPhone would get support through the upcoming iPhone OS 4 edition.
