US based retailing giant Amazon has been given permissions to establish a distribution center in Canada.

The company was facing protests from the local booksellers who were claiming that it would hurt their business.

Amazon managed to get the required permissions after they promised to promote Canadian authors.

Amazon is also going to provide more content from Canadian authors on their Kindle eBook reader platform.

The Canadian Booksellers Association still is not sure if the deal would be good for the local businesses.

Amazon already is retailing books and other items from their online store in the Canadian market. The local distribution center would lower shipping costs saving money for the customers.
