integrated incident resolution tools monitor system performance,
recover lost data, create and distribute software packages, and
provide remote control within a single console and incident record
* New knowledge management within Altiris Helpdesk Solution™ now
includes 3rd party content for reduced incident resolution time and
increased help desk productivity
* Within a new end user self-help portal, employees can search for
incident resolutions, open a service request or log an incident to
ultimately reduce service desk overhead and to free time for strategic
IT projects

Licensing and availability
The Altiris 6 infrastructure is now available. Altiris Asset Management Suite 6.0 is expected to be available this month. Existing customers with current annual upgrade protection can download and install new Altiris 6 releases at no additional cost. Altiris Asset Management Suite 6.0 is available starting at an MSRP of $30 per node with volume discounts available. Contract, asset control, TCO management and help desk components of the suite are now sold under a new concurrent-use license allowing unlimited management of assets.
