Adobe Systems Incorporated announced it has added four new royalty-free image collections available through Adobe Stock Photos. The additional collections, along with increases in existing collections, bring the total number of images to over 355,000. Adobe Stock Photos is accessed through Adobe Bridge, a hub for productivity, imagery and creativity that provides multi-view file browsing and smooth cross-product integration within Adobe Creative Suite 2 and its point product software applications. The additional images give Adobe Creative Suite 2 customers many more royalty-free images to choose from, making it even easier to find the right image without leaving the application.
New collections added to Adobe Stock Photos include the following Jupiterimages collections: Creatas Images, Goodshoot, IT Stock Free and Thinkstock Images. This set provides a wide choice of Euro-centric stock offerings, elegant and contemporary images, classic stock themes, a large diversity of subjects, and some of the most sought-after concepts and metaphors. The new additions also supplement the collections provided by the current list of leading providers such as Photodisc by Getty Images, Comstock by Jupiterimages, Digital Vision by Getty Images, imageshop royalty free by zefaimages and amana, making Adobe Stock Photos an even more diversified one-stop shop for creative professionals.
One of the many benefits of using Adobe Stock Photos is that customers can evaluate an image before licensing it by downloading an un-watermarked, low-resolution version into their favorite Adobe Creative Suite 2 software application. Over one million low-resolution comp images have been viewed from Adobe Stock Photos in the first 90 days of operation.
“Adobe Stock Photos provides a single interface to a wealth of stock photos, which allows us to focus on the conceptual aspect of projects instead of searching for images for hours on end,” says Owen Starr, creative director and partner of twocreate design, a design firm specializing in corporate identity systems, Web sites, and packaging. “Not only does twocreate design benefit, as we easily save four to six hours per week by using Adobe Stock Photos, but so do our clients, as the ultimate outcome is our ability to deliver stronger creative results.”
Improved Search Capabilities
New enhancements to the Advanced Search tool give Creative Suite 2 users the ability to now narrow their searches by specific collections, in addition to media types and orientation, providing them with quicker and more direct access to the images they need. This is one of the many ongoing improvements made to the service based on specific customer feedback. Creative professionals can bring downloaded non-watermarked comp images directly into a layout — and then choose to purchase — all within the Adobe Creative Suite 2.
