At the world’s second-most important IT tradeshow, Computex Taipei 2005, Acer is displaying a full range of easy-to-use, dependable technology that empowers people to be the best they can be. Acer’s long-term mission —breaking the barriers between people and technology —is ever present at this year’s Computex show. Acer is emphasizing user-friendly and empowering technology, in addition to innovative and stylish products.

Acer’s complete spectrum of products showcased includes the new Ferrari 4000 notebook, the Red Dot design award-winning TravelMate 3000 notebook, multi-functional LCD TVs and monitors, and desktop PCs featuring the latest dual-core power technology. What’s more, visitors will find digital still cameras, projectors, handhelds, enterprise products, Folio-design notebooks and the media gateway all exhibited at Acer’s booth.

Ferrari 4000 notebook
The latest in the exclusive racecar series of notebooks born from the victorious partnership between Acer and Scuderia Ferrari, the Ferrari 4000 is the world’s first notebook on the market that uses a space-age carbon-fiber cover. The custom-designed cover, which is half the weight of aluminum and eight times the resilience of steel, is glazed in a high-gloss mirror coating just like the paintwork on Ferrari racecars. The Ferrari 4000 is powered by AMD Turion™ 64 processor technology and ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X700 graphics, with a widescreen 15.4” LCD, and utilizes PCI Express™ architecture for top-flight execution and astonishing imagery.

TravelMate 3000 notebook
Using the newest generation of Intel® Centrino™ mobile technology and an Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG network solution, the TravelMate 3000 boasts a widescreen 12.1” LCD, yet measures a scant 25 mm in height and weighs just 1.4 kg. The TravelMate 3000 occupies less desk surface than an A4 page, making it the ideal companion for professionals who require the optimum balance of high performance, mobility and steadfast wireless connectivity. Germany’s Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen recently awarded the TravelMate 3000 with its coveted Red Dot for superior design quality.

Dual-core desktops
Acer’s high-performance Veriton and Aspire desktop PCs offer full-featured, practical functionality for all kinds of users and working environments. The latest desktop PCs incorporate Intel® CPU dual-core technology —chips with two brains that enable computers to handle more information simultaneously. Another unique feature is the user interface for desktop PCs, comprising: Acer eRecovery Management to recover applications and drivers, back up data, and provide password protection; Acer eLock Management to protect data by preventing unauthorized access and writing to external devices; and Acer eDataSecurity Management to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.

Computex Taipei 2005 runs from May 31 to June 4. Acer’s booth is located at Hall 2, booth F247. The Computex tradeshow is Asia’s most influential global IT event.
