the industry leader in persistent endpoint security and management solutions for computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, today announced the addition of third-party patching capabilities for software applications with the release of Absolute Manage 6.8.
The integration of an automated patch engine provides comprehensive coverage and updates for the most prevalent and at-risk third-party applications. With Absolute Manage 6.8, IT administrators can manage operating system patches for Mac and Windows devices, along with a wide range of third-party applications in a fully automated system that detects and downloads missing patches. Once each update receives administrator approval, Absolute Manage deploys and reports on the status of each patch.
"When software vulnerabilities remain unpatched, you're leaving the door open for grave security risks to enter the enterprise," said Peter Frankl, VP & GM, client management solutions, at Absolute Software. "By integrating an automated engine within Absolute Manage, IT can efficiently and proactively manage and fill these identified security gaps, reducing a broad range of security threats."
