Absolute Software Corporation the industry standard for persistent endpoint security  and management solutions for computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, today announced that Samsung has embedded Absolute persistence technology into the firmware of several more Galaxy mobile devices including the Galaxy S5, NotePRO, and TabPRO.

In addition to KNOX, which is Samsung's end-to-end secure mobile platform for enterprise users, Samsung also has embedded Absolute persistence technology into select Galaxy mobile devices globally. Following user installation and activation, Absolute Computrace and Absolute LoJack software agents remain persistently installed over the life of the device, even if the device is factory reset. This provides organizations and individuals with a trusted lifeline to their devices.

Computrace allows organizations to persistently track and secure all of their devices, including the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets. IT administrators can remotely invoke security commands to protect data so they can ensure—and most importantly prove—that endpoint IT compliance processes are properly implemented and enforced. Customers can secure corporate data, safeguard against breaches, monitor device status, receive alerts and respond preemptively in case a device is deemed to be at risk.

When a protected Samsung Galaxy mobile device is stolen, the Absolute Investigations team can perform a remote investigation to determine the identity of the current user of the device and work with law enforcement globally to get the device back. Along with theft recovery, Absolute LoJack customers can remotely lock, locate their device or delete sensitive files to prevent identity theft.

"Absolute persistence technology is embedded in the firmware of select Samsung Galaxy mobile devices to provide organizations and consumers with a trusted lifeline to their devices in the event they are lost or stolen," said Errol Olsen, Interim CEO at Absolute Software. "With the rise of mobile theft, and the increase in the value of corporate and personal data, Samsung continues to be an industry leader for implementing technology to protect their customers and their products."

"This agreement initiates a closer alignment between Absolute Software and Samsung in addressing the growing importance of mobile device security for enterprises and consumers around the globe," said Injong Rhee, Senior Vice President of KNOX Business, IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics. "Samsung is committed to ensuring the safety of our customers and with Absolute persistence technology, our customers and their sensitive data will be protected."
