BlackBerry Limited, a global leader in secure mobile communications, today announced that Good Work and several other Good-secured apps and servers have been certified as Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 4 Augmented (EAL4+). EAL4+ is the highest certification level recognized internationally under the Common Criteria program, and is frequently conducted for products that are deployed in environments handling sensitive government data.
The other Good-secured apps and servers that are now EAL4+ certified are:
– Good Work client for iOS and Android – containerized email for Exchange and Office 365
– Good Access™ client for iOS and Android – secure browser supporting Kerberos, SAML and PKI for seamless access to enterprise web apps
– Good Connect™ client for iOS and Android – containerized client for secure enterprise instant messaging (EIM)
– Good Dynamics® SDK for iOS and Android
– Good Control Server
– Good Proxy Server
– Good Enterprise Mobility Server
“Security is one of the most important considerations for enterprise and government customers and we are proud that Good Powered by BlackBerry solutions have earned this rigorous certification,” said David Kleidermacher, Chief Security Officer at BlackBerry. “BlackBerry is renowned as a market leader in the delivery of secure mobile cross-platform solutions, and this achievement helps to provide our customers globally with continued confidence in deploying the BlackBerry Multi-OS EMM portfolio throughout their organizations.”
Common Criteria assesses the design and implementation of security-sensitive products and provides assurance that the specification, implementation, and evaluation of each solution have been thoroughly analyzed. Many governments and regulated organizations around the world rely on Common Criteria certification as tested proof that deployed products meet their security requirements as validated by independent certified testing bodies.
With the EAL4+ certification for Good Work and the majority of the Good Collaboration Suite apps, enterprises can be assured that their mobile data has been certified for the highest levels of protection. As many organizations struggle to move beyond basic MDM-only deployments to mobilize critical business applications that touch regulated systems and data their security requirements are being met by Good Powered by BlackBerry. No other EMM vendor other than BlackBerry has been externally validated by a Common Criteria for secure email, messaging and browsing.
