– VMS Software, Inc. and Stark Gaming, Inc. announced a partnership to create a new server infrastructure to solve problems in the online gaming and eSports industry. Using VMS Software's OpenVMS Operating System and Stark Gaming's new PC video game, Memories of Havark, they will create a backend server environment with the intent of 100% uptime, global scalability, low cost of ownership and state of the art security.
"We want to raise the standard in online gaming," said Christopher Main, Co-Founder and CEO of Stark Gaming. "As a gamer myself I know how frustrating weekly maintenance, server outages and cheating can be. With the OpenVMS operating system we look to eliminate those problems."
The collaboration between VMS Software and Stark Gaming will methodically break down network and server operations in order to implement technology that is specifically designed for the needs of online gaming. Following the integration of OpenVMS with Memories of Havark, VMS Software will have a server infrastructure model and global deployment solution available for other companies in the gaming industry.
"Online gaming and eSports are growing at a pace that can't be ignored," said Duane Harris, CEO of VMS Software. "We see a unique opportunity with Memories of Havark to advance OpenVMS in to an explosive industry."
