Computer Market Research (CMR) will be delivering channel data management support to its newest client, Comtrend Corporation (Comtrend), a leading supplier of advanced networking solutions. Comtrend will be using CMR’s Channel Point-of-Sale (POS) and Inventory software as well as the professional services that go along with it.
Channel POS and Channel Inventory are two of CMR’s flagship solutions. The Channel POS module enables easy access to point-of-sale data in a centralized, web-based application. This eliminates the manual collection of data and the processing of sales-out reports. The Channel Inventory module consolidates and reports channel inventory quantities on hand, allowing visibility into information for planning and forecasting.
“We’re thrilled to have Comtrend as a new client because we have a strong understanding of their high-tech industry and we’re familiar with many of the partners who already provide POS reports to Comtrend,” said Chris Gray, Professional Services Manager at CMR.
Gray has managed client relations at CMR for over 3 years. “For our channel data management services, the first step is always to understand new clients’ business rules so that we can cleanse their data and present it back to them the way they want it– we’re currently going through this process with Comtrend.”
John DiFrenna, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Comtrend, shared his reasons for choosing CMR over other third-party vendors.
“Based on many years of past experiences with CMR we were not surprised when they ended up at the top of our scale after an extensive RFQ process. They clearly understand our business needs. The implementation of their best-in-class solution will definitely assist us in managing our exploding influx of new data. Additionally, the flexibility, responsiveness and reasonable support costs provided by CMR are thus far, unmatched.”
DiFrenna also touched on the goals that he would like to achieve by using CMR’s Channel POS & Inventory solutions.
“Speed and accuracy are critical to us in this very competitive market. The closer we can get to real-time delivery of our sales results, spikes, and trends, the better. Our sales partners demand immediate feedback and CMR assists us in achieving this objective. Additionally, as we expand our channel presence, we expect that CMR will be an integral component to managing our diversified inventory, marketing programs and promotions and pricing processes.”
Both companies have been in business for more than 20 years. CMR was founded in 1984 while Comtrend was founded in 1990.
