Engadget has reported that Microsoft might have decided to cut some unrevealed features to keep the manufacturing costs of their Kinect add-on for Xbox 360 low.
One of their patent applications related to the Kinect stated that the device could understand sign language. But the company has now revealed that the first generation Kinect would not support this functionality.
The reports are that the company has decided to use a cheaper camera on the launch edition of Kinect to keep the costs low. We can only hope that they would add this functionality in a future model.
