Market sources claim Palm has loaded the necessary code in their Pre smartphone which enables it to sync with Apple iTunes without requiring any third party application.
The reports claim that Apple iTunes treats Pre like a regular Apple iPod device. It does not however support the old DRM infested music files which only works on iPods and iTunes.
It remains to be seen if this is a fact or just another one of the rumours in the market about the Pre.
Palm is scheduled to launch their Pre smartphone next month. It could become the biggest challenge to the iPhone in the US market.
If Pre does pretend to be an iPod to the iTunes, it would be interesting to see how Apple would react to this new development.
