WITI (Women in Technology International), the nation’s leading professional organization for tech-savvy women, is proud to announce their support of the video game industry by sponsoring a professional game team from PMS Clan (Pandora’s Mighty Soldiers), the world’s largest competitive group of female gamers.
PMS Clan’s mission is to provide a fun and competitive environment for female gamers. As an established team and community numbering more than 400 female gamers from around the globe, they have been breaking the stereotypes of gaming since their formation on XBOX LIVE in 2002.
“I am delighted that WITI has selected us to be their gaming ambassadors,” said Amber Dalton, leader and co-founder of PMS Clan. “Their mission to support women mirrors the underlying goal of PMS Clan to assist women in traditionally male-dominated areas of technology fields. On behalf of all the PMS members and our community, we’re looking forward to representing WITI in the upcoming 2006 Season.”
With a global presence, PMS Clan have not only maintained the title of being the largest female gaming community in online gaming, but also one of the most respected. They regularly compete professionally in the male-dominated PRO tournament circuits. At this time, PMS Clan encompasses three different game platforms which include PMS XBOX, PMS Playstation2 and PMS PC.
“WITI’s mission is to empower women worldwide to achieve unimagined possibilities and transformations through technology, which is similar to what PMS Clan has done and continues to do,” said David Leighton, president of WITI. “WITI believes that gaming is yet another great platform to entice girls to get them interested in technology, which is why we are excited to partner with PMS Clan. They are an inspiration to breaking the barriers for girls around the world and providing a safe haven and nurturing environment to showcase talent and competition.”
PMS Clan will continue making a variety of appearances at professional tournaments and gaming venues beginning in January of 2006.
