Play Magick with an Actual magic wand on iPhone
A new Kickstarter project might just fulfill your Harry Potter-esque fantasy. Incantor, a mobile game app intended for the iPhone, will allow players to cast spells and plan tactics using an actual wand. This Bluetooth-connected, motion control device comes with haptic technology, which takes advantage of the sense of touch by applying forces, vibrations, or motions to the player. It allows you to “shape” spells in the air to cast them and even lock onto targets on the screen
The game is built by Rhode Island-based company Movable Code. The designers include a former head of R&D for Hasbro and an “external technology scout” for Sony Ericsson. The project has been in development for over a year and it is days away from completion.
As with all Kickstarter projects, you can make a pledge to help Incantor become a reality. A $100 pledge includes a wand and a copy of the iPhone game, while a $1,000 pledge would give you a beta wand and a limited-edition art print.
